HOjA

We are a cozy cafe, a neighborhood hangout, and a family restaurant.

Our homestyle food is all scratch made with real ingredients, allowing us to offer extensive vegan and gluten-free options.

We have a small kitchen with a small menu of breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, share plates, and kid friendly quesadillas.

Brunchy cocktails, fresh horchata, and exquisite coffees and teas round out the menu.

OUR Story

HOJA is a proud part of the South Pearl Street community. It all started around 2015, when we began bringing our food truck to the neighborhood farmers market. When a small sandwich shop became available on South Pearl Street in 2018, we had to take it.

Specializing in vegan and gluten free options- without being exclusively either- we are a great space for small groups and families.

We still take our food truck down to the market every Sunday, and love staying connected to where it all began.

Our airy and welcoming restaurant is a safe space for everyone, and we love our local vibe.

We are very dog friendly, with a patio that is a neighborhood gem!

White walls, terra cotta pots, and artfully arranged cacti make HOJA, a tiny daytime café on Old South Pearl, feel like a find on some dusty Santa Fe side street. Its aesthetic easily carries over to its focused menu, composed of the mostly vegetarian Mexican plates its name implies ("hoja" is Spanish for “leaf”). With an open kitchen taking up half the room, the restaurant is a tight squeeze with all of five or six tables—yet somehow the space is a breath of fresh air.
